Neve Shalom has won awards for its musical programming. Each year the Susy Schwartz Committee brings a top notch performer. Recent performers have included Debbie Friedman, Kol B’Seder, Craig Taubman, Perri Smilow, Shuli Natan, Joel Chasnoff and many others. In 2016 our performer is SAFAM.

The Hazzan also produces an annual concert earlier in the year. Recent programs have included Interfaith sharing, College a capella groups, Argentian music, Sephardic programs and many more.

Neve Shalom children have performed many times during the school year, especially on holidays and at services. Our graduates have often read Torah and led services both at our synagogue and at USY retreats.

The Neve Shalom Adult choir sings on the High Holy Days and then at special events throughout the year. These often include Friday Alive services, the 25th Hour program (this year in memory of Debbie Friedman), a Purim Shpiel and sometimes a Spring concert.

Under the direction of Hazzan Levin these events are of high quality and always a great joy. Hazzan Levin has a Masters degree in Choral Conducting and has conducted numerous synagogue and community choirs throughout his career. He directs the NJ Cantors Ensemble and co-conducts the Central NJ Jewish choir. He has edited books on preparing synagogue choirs, arranged hundreds of Jewish choral selections and teaches each year at the North American Jewish Choral Festival.
